The Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Skills of the Month lists are designed to help educators intentionally address key ECC competencies from preschool through post-high school. Each month highlights a skill from the collapsed ECC framework, providing a flexible target to integrate into daily routines and classroom activities.
 
Please note: These lists are not intended for students with complex learning needs. Instead, they are best suited for students who can benefit from broad, developmentally appropriate ECC targets. The lists serve as starting points for collaboration, not rigid checklists. Educators and students should work together to establish clear success criteria, identify gaps due to reduced incidental learning, and adjust the type and intensity of support as needed, always aiming to build greater independence.
 
Educators are encouraged to adapt and integrate ECC areas based on individual student profiles and lesson objectives. By embedding these monthly skills into everyday activities and empowering students as partners in their learning, ECC instruction becomes meaningful, relevant, and sustainable at each stage of development.
